Surah Noor 1.3

Surah Al-Nur consists of 64 verses and was revealed in Madinah. According to the commentary of Burhan, it is reported from Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) that those who regularly recite Surah Al-Nur will be protected from witnessing any malevolence from their close associates throughout their lives. Furthermore, upon their passing, seventy thousand angels are said to escort their body to the grave, offering prayers for forgiveness.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sal Allaho Alehi Wasallam) emphasized the importance of this Surah, particularly for women, noting that the rewards for its recitation are immensely significant—equivalent to ten times the number of believers on Earth. Additionally, according to the sixth Imam (a.s.), having this Surah nearby while sleeping may prevent unwanted nocturnal emissions.
